About this role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: MUST NOT BE MORE THAN 10

 

  • Develop and execute procurement plans in line with approved budgets, operational needs, and procurement policies.

  • Conduct sourcing and tendering activities by preparing, issuing, and managing RFQs, RFPs, and tenders in compliance with procedures.

  • Evaluate bids and proposals using approved criteria and prepare award recommendations to ensure transparency and value for money.

  • Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders within delegated authority levels and approved procurement thresholds.

  • Source, prequalify, onboard, and manage suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, service, cost, and compliance requirements.

  • Maintain and monitor supplier performance and initiate corrective actions to address non-performance or service gaps.

  • Manage procurement contracts and service agreements by ensuring proper documentation, compliance, and timely renewals.

  • Ensure full compliance and audit readiness by maintaining complete procurement records and supporting internal and external audits.

  • Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives through market research, spend analysis, and supplier negotiations.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and committees by providing procurement guidance, analysis, and recommendations.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution

  • Professional procurement certification or Master's degree will be an added advantage

  • Master's degree will be added as advantage

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in procurement/Banking Operations 

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and Suppliers' relationship

  • Excellent planning, organization and report writing skills.

  • Excellent the ability to anticipate issues and to design appropriate solutions.

  • Excellent planning, organizing, problem solving and analytical skills.

  • A good understanding of strong risk management practices paying particular attention to operational, reputational, compliance and ethical risks.
