- Audit & Improve Compliance: Conduct routine, risk-based biosecurity audits; identify areas of concern; document findings; establish corrective actions; and follow through to ensure deficiencies are addressed.
- Manage Transportation & Facility Risk: Evaluate animal movement, loadout procedures, truck washing, facility traffic, supply and equipment entry, mortality handling, and other activities that could create disease-transfer risk.
- Support Disease Prevention & Response: Partner with Production and Veterinary Leadership during suspected or confirmed disease events to implement enhanced biosecurity measures, investigate potential disease pathways, and support containment and recovery efforts.
- Train & Develop Team Members: Provide practical biosecurity training and coaching to employees, managers, drivers, and other team members, building an understanding of both company expectations and the importance behind established protocols.
- Drive Accountability & Continuous Improvement: Maintain standardized audit processes and biosecurity scorecards, monitor recurring deficiencies and trends, communicate priorities to leadership, and work cross-functionally to strengthen biosecurity throughout the production system.
