Senior Specialist, IT Network
About this role
Jurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port’s local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.
Operations and support
• Lead in the planning, design, installation, configuration and support of both on-premises and cloud network deployments
• Manage, configure and optimize complex core and access network assets to ensure alignment to optimal network performance and compliance to security standards
• Drive targeted improvements to enhance network performance and to achieve resource optimization and cost savings
• Manage the lifecycle of all network assets and plan for equipment refresh ensure before their end-of-life
• Lead in the troubleshooting, diagnosis, resolution and documentation of mult-faceted network issues and incidents
• Oversee network capacity monitoring and planning for network resources
• Maintain and improve operational documentation, SOP and work processes
• Review and perform maintenance support contracts’ renewal
Project implementation and technology enhancement
• Manage large-scale and complex network projects, this includes technology assessment, developing tender documents, procurement, implementation and transition to support
• Drive collaboration across various IT teams and vendors to ensure smooth delivery of projects’ implementation
• Lead in evaluating appropriate technologies and solutions to enhance overall network infrastructure and to meet future needs
Cybersecurity, BCP and compliance
• Perform regular review to ensure network hardware are appropriately hardened and secured
• Respond to network-related cybersecurity issues, incidents, advisories, vulnerabilities and risks, including implementing resolutions or mitigation
• Ensure timely deployment of firmware upgrade and patches to network assets
• Lead in annual DR exercise and/or BCP activities
• Review and identify improvement areas to existing network-related policies and procedures
Educational Qualifications
• Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering
• Possess relevant IT certifications including CCNP, CISSP, Checkpoint CCSA, PMP, cloud certifications (eg AWS, Azure Google), ITIL.
Relevant experience
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with:
• Experience in Network Lead role in Network related areas
• Deep technical knowledge in networking technologies and protocols
• Know-how in designing, deploying and operating large-scale network and security infrastructure
• Strong vendor and project management skillset
• Knowledge in designing and managing cloud IaaS infrastructure (eg AWS)
• Hands-on experience with problem-solving skills in network administration and support
• Experience in supporting various network hardware including Cisco, Huawei, Aruba
• Experience in supporting security hardware including Checkpoint, Fortigate, Cisco
• Strong knowledge in network design principles, tools and technologies including but not limited to LAN, WAN, firewalls, IPS, VPN, NAC, CDN, DNS, VoIP, ACL, scripting and public cloud
