Jurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port’s local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.

Port Planning

  • Support the Head of Strategic Port Planning in evaluating port development initiatives (e.g. new berths, relocation, expansion projects)
  • Conduct feasibility studies, capacity assessments, and impact analyses for proposed developments
  • Assess operational, commercial, and customer impact of planning initiatives
  • Develop conceptual plans, preliminary layouts, and high-level timelines for port developments
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (operations, engineering, commercial, regulators)
  • Support the Head of Strategic Port Planning in evaluating port development initiatives (e.g. new berths, relocation, expansion projects)

Project Management

  • Support the Head of Strategic Port Planning in evaluating port development initiatives (e.g. new berths, relocation, expansion projects)
  • Develop project scope, timelines, and implementation plans
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and resolve issues
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure execution alignment
  • Manage change requests and ensure alignment with overall port development strategy
  • Lead and manage projects including port developments, infrastructure upgrades, and shared services initiatives

Port resources optimisation (Berth & Yard)

  • Lead and manage projects including port developments, infrastructure upgrades, and shared services initiatives
  • Develop and implement berth allocation strategies and planning rules
  • Analyse vessel turnaround, crane deployment, and operational workflows
  • Identify yard congestion zones and optimise cargo placement/zoning strategies
  • Perform yard layout reviews and simulation studies for high-congestion areas
  • Improve alignment between berth, yard, and gate operations through data analysis

Educational Qualifications

  • Degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering, Logistics, Operations Research, or related discipline
Relevant Experience
  • 5–8 years (Manager) in port operations, terminal planning, logistics, or related field 
  • Experience in berth planning, yard planning, or terminal operations preferred 
  • Exposure to data analytics, simulation, or operational optimisation tools is advantageous 
  • Experience working in cross-functional or transformation environments preferred
