Under the general supervision of the Foreman - Production, the Lease Operator 1 performs basic operational duties to support safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible production operations. This role is responsible for conducting daily operational checks of assigned wells and production facilities, ensuring safety devices are functional, monitoring well performance trends, and assisting with optimization efforts. The Lease Operator 1 operates compressors, monitors fluid levels and temperatures to minimize downtime, performs minor equipment repairs, and maintains housekeeping standards. Work schedules may include overtime, night shifts, and day shifts assigned. This position is located near Jal, NM in the Olympus field office.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate and maintain lease equipment and production facilities in an efficient and environmentally sound manner.
Perform basic operating tasks including tank gauging, operating three-phase separators, line heaters, valves, maintaining tank seals and seal records.
Accurately enter daily production data into ProdView.
Complete facility and compressor inspections.
Monitor wells and compressors in Cygnet to maximize production.
Monitor environmental controls (e.g., flares) in Cygnet to ensure proper operation.
Understand plunger lift systems and assist with well optimization.
Minimize downtime and operating costs while ensuring oil remains marketable by monitoring water cut and BS&W.
Use appropriate safety equipment and comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Actively participate in the Safety Observation program and demonstrate continuous improvement of our safety culture.
Monitor crude oil production and sales and assist with TXRRC visits and audits as needed.
Ensure proper routing of oil and water to designated tanks.
Maintain daily, weekly and monthly production reports .
Perform minor surface equipment repairs with minimal supervision.
Manage fluid inventory at production facilities.
Follow surface safety equipment guidelines and report equipment malfunctions
Maintain positive, respectful working relationships across all teams.

Be a good steward of the land on which we operate, taking care of locations and maintaining good housekeeping.

OTHER DUTIES

Work extended hours and overtime as required, in accordance with company policy.
Perform additional duties and special projects assigned to support departmental and company objectives.

High School Diploma or GED

Valid driver’s license

Previous experience in Oil and Gas Exploration & Production

2 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Production and Optimization.
