Job DetailsJob Location: PUEBLO WEST, CO 81007Salary Range: $21.00 - $24.00 HourlyThe Extrusion Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring extrusion equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality pipe production. This position requires maintaining process control, performing quality checks, assisting with equipment changeovers, and supporting overall production operations with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate extrusion equipment in accordance with company standards for safety, quality, and production efficiency.
Monitor extrusion temperatures, pressures, preheater settings, and other critical process conditions; make adjustments as needed.
Assist with product and equipment changeovers.
Perform in-process quality checks and inspections according to company specifications.
Cut and prepare product samples for Quality Control testing.
Accurately record production, inspection, and equipment performance data.
Identify and report product defects, equipment issues, or process abnormalities to supervision.
Perform minor troubleshooting and repairs on production equipment.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including cleaning and painting assigned equipment when required.
Relieve other operators during breaks and lunches as assigned.
Train and assist new or less experienced employees.
Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required.
Follow all company safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions or hazards.
Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management.

QualificationsQualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Prior manufacturing or extrusion experience preferred.
Must successfully complete all required training and progression levels.
Must obtain and maintain forklift certification during employment.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

Employees in this position must be able to

Lift up to 50 pounds.
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the work shift.
Work around industrial equipment and in confined production areas with limited clearance.
Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and controls safely.
Read and understand production documents, labels, and operating instructions.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Distinguish warning alarms, operational indicators, and product identification markings.
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, sweepers, and other powered industrial equipment.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to:

Moving mechanical equipment
Noise and vibration
Heat and changing temperatures
Dust and industrial materials

Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
