Help build the skills behind great manufacturing. As a Production Skills Trainer, you’ll provide hands-on, shop-floor training that prepares new and existing team members for success. You’ll strengthen knowledge of our production and service processes, Safety, Quality, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S, while partnering with the Training team and plant leadership to identify skill gaps and deliver training where it’s needed most.

 

What a Day in Your Life Looks Like:

  • Train & Develop: Build the skills of new and existing team members through hands-on training within production work centers.

 

  • Technical Guidance: Help team members confidently understand work orders, blueprints, work instructions, and production processes.

 

  • Assess & Grow Skills: Evaluate capabilities, track progress through the Skills Matrix, and identify opportunities for continued development.

 

  • Drive Performance: Reinforce Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement practices that support strong manufacturing performance.

 

  • Improve Training: Gather feedback and training data to identify skill gaps and continuously strengthen training programs.

 

  • Support the Team: Partner across departments on training, orientation, and interviews, including providing translation support as needed.

 

  • Travel & Flexibility: Travel approximately 25% to support other locations and assist with additional training needs as required. 

 

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Technical Skills: Comfortable using computer-based systems with the ability and willingness to learn new technology.

 

  • Education & Experience: Associate degree OR 1+ years of progressive experience with Morgan.
  • Performance: Current Morgan team members must be in good standing at the time of application.

 

  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience with manufacturing processes and truck body building, including the ability to train or coach others.

Physical Requirements:

This is a hands-on role in an active manufacturing environment, where you’ll stay moving, work with tools, and help bring our products to life. You’ll:

  • Stay active throughout your shift, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. as part of your daily work.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, requiring repetitive hand and wrist movements and applied pressure.
  • Occasionally climb ladders, work at heights, or work in confined spaces.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures and noise levels may vary.
  • Use your vision, hearing, and communication skills to work safely, accurately, and effectively as part of the team.
