About the Role:
Jackson Hewitt is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join our team in Bristol, VA! Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis
- Process payroll and ensure timely, accurate employee compensation
- Prepare and generate financial reports, summaries, and statements
- Monitor and track expenses, budgets, and cash flow
- Assist with tax preparation support and financial documentation as needed
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and applicable regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or similar financial role
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity and discretion
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
