We are looking for a talented I & C Engineer II to join our team at our office located within our Cork OR Dublin offices.

 

In this role, you will provide the IPS project team with technical and automation expertise for the design, engineering, and construction of Pharmaceutical and Biotech related projects.  

What you'll do:

    • Analyse complex engineering challenges and develop practical, effective solutions.
    • Support the preparation of fee proposals and capital budget submissions as required.
    • Prepare, coordinate, and manage instrumentation packages for bidding, approval, and construction phases, ensuring an efficient and streamlined delivery process.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Instrumentation Engineers, supporting their professional development.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, vendor representatives, and on-site project teams, acting with a high degree of autonomy.
    • Attend and actively contribute to client meetings and internal IPS project discussions.
    • Participate in site visits to monitor installation activities, conduct reviews, and support the inspection and sign-off of instrumentation systems and installations.

Qualifications & Requirements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (NFQ Level 8) in Instrumentation Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial engineering design within a process, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.
  • Proven expertise across the full range of Instrumentation Engineering design activities, including but not limited to:
    • Instrument Index development and management
    • I/O Lists and Allocation Schedules
    • Instrument Specifications and Data Sheets
    • Instrument and Equipment Layout Drawings
    • Cable Routing and Containment Design
    • Instrument Loop and Block Diagrams
    • Control System Architecture Design
    • ATEX and Hazardous Area Classification requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant instrumentation engineering codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to identify and deliver value engineering opportunities and implement innovative technologies to achieve cost-effective client solutions.
  • Strong project delivery skills, including budget management, resource planning, scheduling, and change control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce technical specifications, reports, and contract documentation.
  • Professional, proactive, and collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental responsibility, and ethical business practices.
