Billing Representative

Billing Representative 

Role Summary 

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, organized, and patient‑focused Billing Representative to join our outpatient physical therapy clinic. This role is essential to ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and a smooth experience for our patients. Candidates with prior experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or accounts receivable (A/R) are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage insurance A/R, including timely follow‑up on outstanding claims, denials, and appeals
• Post payments from insurance companies and patients; reconcile accounts as needed
• Communicate with patients regarding balances, payment plans, and billing questions in a professional and compassionate manner
• Review and correct claim errors to minimize delays in reimbursement
• Collaborate with front desk and clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding

Qualifications

• Experience in medical billing, insurance A/R, or revenue cycle management preferred
• Knowledge of CPT codes, ICD‑10, and common insurance requirements (Medicare, commercial plans, workers’ comp)
• Prior experience in physical therapy or other outpatient rehab settings is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with both patients and insurance representatives
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with EMR and billing software
