About this role

Micro-Tronics, Inc. (MTI) is seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor to develop and execute production plans, ensure the timely delivery of products, and optimize inventory levels to support operational efficiency.  Your expertise in production planning and coordination will contribute to the success and efficiency of our R&O operations. Evaluate, select, and establish relationships with Materials and OSP vendors.  Track the progress of purchased materials to make sure orders are filled and delivered correctly. Maintain proper control of metals storage and inventory processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate production schedule and plan for team metrics.
  • Coordinate and run internal Production meetings to drive schedule on time.
  • Update ERP system daily to reflect accurate production orders and material shortages.
  • Identify and solve problems in and out of the immediate work area independently and ensure materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels
  • Engage in the execution, coordination, and follow-up with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of production plans with customer requirements.
  • Monitor material plans to maintain firm alignment with demand
  • Manage recovery plans between procurement and the production schedule when problems arise.
  • Engage in a SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process with key focus on balancing fill rate and lowering backlog
  • Coordinate production schedule and plan for team metrics
  • Monitor material plans to maintain firm alignment with demand and financial requirements 
  • Coordinate material requirements with Scheduling, Production, Sales, and Marketing to support manufacturing and short-term forecasting efforts.
  • Evaluate daily MRP (material requirements plan) on an ERP system for assigned commodities to determine material supply needs and take the appropriate actions to meet those needs (create purchase orders) while keeping overall inventory investment at or below targets.  
  • Assist in researching and evaluating new suppliers based on:
    • price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities 
    • the supplier’s reputation and history.
  • Evaluate existing suppliers based on performance and liaise with the Quality department on vendor scorecard criteria. 
  • Provide Quality department data such as price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, and production and distribution capabilities to update vendor scorecard criteria.
  • Track vendor delivery performance for purchased materials as well as outside processing.
  • Confer with vendors to obtain product information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Track vendor pricing (increases/decreases) for feedback to the customer contract team and/or management team.
  • Mentor, counsel, and discipline employees.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and enforcing all company policies and procedures and adhering to legal regulations.
  • Contribute to the company's Gross Margin goals by controlling expenses and scrap. 
  • Provide quality service to internal and external customers to positively impact on the company’s On Time Delivery ratings.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Be a contributing team member for all company efforts.
  • Confer with management and other supervisors to resolve production and administrative issues.
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Maintain the skills and training matrix. 
  • Evaluate and document employee performance. 
  • Set department goals that align with the company’s mission, core values, and annual initiatives.
  • Adhere to the company’s cultural objectives and core values
  • Be committed to continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a clean, organized working environment is maintained in accordance with the company’s 5S policy.
  • Verify that lot control is maintained and that adequate supplies are on hand and properly labeled.


Non-Routine

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Warehousing personnel to:
    • eliminate aged inventory 
    • ensure inventory turnover goals are achieved
    • participate in the corrective action process for all defective or unacceptable goods.
  • Make recommendations & advise senior management regarding the continuing improvement of shipping and receiving issues.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and/or job orders.
  • Maintain complete understanding of process control.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Shipping/Receiving and/or supervision. 
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including planning, warehousing, inventory management, purchasing, and scheduling.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Ship out everything on the same day received.
  • Receive and disperse everything on the same day received.
  • Establish goals, monitor, and report the % of jobs issued and released in 7 days or less. 
  • Complete annual physical inventory of the metal storage area and update in SyteLine.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Ability to use carts, ladders, dollies, and stools when moving or storing materials.
  • Manual dexterity is sufficient to operate computers, office equipment, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when required.
  • Visual ability to read documents, computer screens, and identify product details.


Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment requires adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Frequent interaction with Operations, Planning, Finance, Quality, Customer Service, Business Development, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Fast-paced environment requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and customer focus.
