What the role involves
As the UK E-commerce Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving online sales growth and maximising revenue, with a primary focus on scaling our marketplace channels (Amazon & eBay) alongside effective management of our direct e-commerce platform (Shopify Plus). This role demands deep, hands-on expertise in marketplace management — listing optimisation, Buy Box performance, advertising, ratings and inventory strategy — supported by a strong understanding of online consumer behaviour, digital marketing and wider e-commerce tactics. We are looking for an action-oriented, proactive thinker who can turn marketplace opportunity into measurable growth.
This job is in our Headquarters based in Swindon, Wiltshire. It is anticipated that after a short period of training, the role will move to a hybrid working environment of 3 days office attendance.
Responsibilities & duties
- Develop and execute activity to drive online sales growth and achieve revenue targets across all active D2C channels (marketplaces as a priority, supporting on Shopify Plus).
- Manage and optimise each D2C platform to enhance user experience, conversion rates, traffic growth, and retention that supports overall performance.
- Conduct regular analysis of sales data, user traffic, and customer behaviour to identify opportunities for improvement across marketplaces (e.g. Amazon, Ebay) and web properties.
- Collaborate with centralised cross-functional teams including marketing, product, and IT to ensure alignment and support for local e-commerce initiatives.
- Implement digital marketing campaigns to drive traffic to the e-commerce platform, increase brand visibility and sales conversion across multiple on-site and off-site communications channels (social, email, etc.).
- Oversee inventory management, pricing strategies, and product merchandising to maximise sales and profitability.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify market opportunities and threats.
- Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and best practices to optimise e-commerce operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in e-commerce management with a track record of delivering sales growth.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in European e-commerce markets is advantageous.
- Hands-on management experience of Amazon and eBay marketplace platforms. Repricer tool and Amazon FBA experience preferred.
- Excellent understanding of digital marketing channels and tactics, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media.
- Proficiency in e-commerce platforms, with Shopify highly preferred (e.g. Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce).
- Proficiency in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Experience using customer management tools such as Gorgias and Bloomreach.
- Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices for e-commerce websites and customer experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in retail, consumer-focused, or product-led industries would be advantageous.
