Employment Type: Full-Time

SHAPE THE FUTURE OF FEDERAL IT MODERNIZATION

At Improvix Technologies, we deliver secure, modern, and integrated technology solutions that keep our nation's most critical systems running efficiently and securely. We're seeking an experienced ServiceNow Architect to design and drive enterprise-level ServiceNow solutions that power our federal customer's IT modernization journey.

This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role — ideal for a professional who thrives on solving complex challenges, architecting scalable systems, and mentoring teams to deliver excellence. As the primary technical authority on the platform, you'll work at the intersection of technology, process, and mission, helping transform the way government manages and delivers digital services.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Architecture & Solution Design

  • Design and lead the architecture, implementation, and optimization of ServiceNow platforms across enterprise modules, including ITSM, ITOM, HAM, SAM, HRSD, SPM, GRC, SecOps, ServiceNow Vault, Automation Engine, and CMDB.
  • Translate business goals into scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions that improve workflows, productivity, and service delivery.
  • Conduct detailed requirement analysis and review business requirements to ensure technical clarity and feasibility for development.
  • Lead workshops and technical design discussions with stakeholders to define platform requirements and align solutions with organizational goals.
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and design gaps early in the development lifecycle.

Development & Integration

  • Design, develop, and deploy custom applications and cross-scope solutions within ServiceNow tailored to federal requirements.
  • Architect and implement integrations with enterprise and third-party systems using REST/SOAP web services, IntegrationHub, MID Servers, and middleware technologies — ensuring secure, seamless data exchange.
  • Build advanced Service Catalog items, including catalog client scripts, UI policies, and Flow Designer automations.
  • Support ongoing improvement and optimization of core ITSM modules (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management).
  • Integrate AI-driven capabilities into ServiceNow to enhance automation, predictive analysis, and decision-making.
  • Ensure system excellence through robust data management, workflow optimization, and performance tuning.

Release Management & Quality

  • Own total release management: release cycle planning, environment management, update set deployment, runbook maintenance, and release documentation across Agile sprint cycles.
  • Lead technical and peer code reviews, and oversee testing, deployment, and ongoing platform improvement.
  • Execute and oversee unit, integration, and regression testing to drive high-quality, zero-defect deployments.
  • Ensure solution quality through compliance and governance checks, and maintain technical design records.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor developers, administrators, and functional team members on ServiceNow architecture, scripting, DevOps approaches, and platform best practices.
  • Participate in client calls to lead and advise on technical design discussions, representing technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with federal stakeholders to align solutions with modernization goals, compliance standards, and security frameworks, including NIST and FISMA.
  • Monitor ServiceNow releases and recommend enhancements to keep the environment current and cutting-edge.
  • Support Windows Server implementation, upgrades, and integrations as required by the environment.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience

  • 7+ years of combined hands-on ServiceNow experience, including 2+ years in a ServiceNow Architect or lead developer role covering platform architecture and enterprise module implementation.
  • 5+ years as a ServiceNow developer, with strong experience in ITSM Catalog and process flow automation, custom application development and cross-scope solutioning, portal development, and implementing security controls.
  • Proven expertise deploying ITSM, with demonstrated experience in at least one additional module such as ITOM, HAM, SAM, SPM, HRSD, GRC, SecOps, ServiceNow Vault, Automation Engine, or CMDB.
  • Proven experience designing ServiceNow integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and third-party tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with release cycle management, code reviews, environment management, and update set deployment.
  • Experience with custom application development, platform upgrades, and troubleshooting complex issues.

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, data models, integration points, and module configuration.
  • Strong scripting ability in server-side and client-side JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, and Script Includes.
  • Familiarity with ITOM capabilities, Service Catalog, and Reporting.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps tooling (Jira, Jenkins, GitHub).
  • Solid understanding of data security practices and integration security protocols.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

Education & Certifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) — required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Clearance

  • Active Secret clearance required. Candidates who are eligible for, or willing to be sponsored/upgraded to, Top Secret are strongly encouraged to apply.

Professional Attributes

  • Technically detail-oriented, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across technical and functional teams and to build trust with clients.

  • Prior experience supporting federal or defense programs in a cleared environment.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks and requirements (NIST, FISMA).
  • Understanding of AI/ML technologies and their application within ServiceNow.
  • Hands-on proficiency with the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).
  • Experience with MID Server configuration and IntegrationHub.
