Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Government Fleet Sales Associate to support the sale of vehicles to government agencies, municipalities, and other public-sector organizations. This position is responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying fleet needs, preparing quotes and bids, and coordinating the sales process from initial inquiry through vehicle delivery.
The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple sales opportunities while ensuring government purchasing requirements and dealership processes are followed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and other government agencies and public-sector customers.
- Identify customer fleet needs and recommend appropriate vehicles, configurations, and available solutions.
- Respond to government bids, requests for quotes, and other purchasing opportunities.
- Prepare accurate vehicle quotes, specifications, proposals, and required sales documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of available vehicle models, fleet programs, government incentives, and purchasing contracts.
- Coordinate vehicle orders, availability, upfits, equipment, and delivery timelines.
- Work with internal departments and outside vendors to ensure vehicles meet customer specifications.
- Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the ordering and delivery process.
- Maintain accurate customer, sales, and opportunity information in dealership systems.
- Ensure required documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with dealership and applicable government purchasing requirements.
- Develop new government fleet business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship building.
- Meet established sales and performance expectations while representing Ilderton Automotive professionally.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Previous dealership administrative, title, billing, fleet, or accounting experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with dealership management systems preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
