General Job Function: The Maintenance Technician will perform day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the roll-form machines. The main goal of our Maintenance Technicians is to work as a team, minimizing production downtime by proactively maintaining the roll-forming machines and tooling. The Maintenance Technician will be required to troubleshoot and respond to quality issues, machine failures, and system failures.
 
Job Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, maintain, and rebuild roll form machinery, tooling, and ancillary equipment throughout the plant.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the machine and equipment can produce quality parts safely and efficiently.
  • Read blueprints and accurately set and pin rolls to CAD data provided
  • Layout rolls for grinding to grind to within specified tolerances accurately
  • Assist with design changes for all roll-forming machines and ancillary equipment
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments to support the plant.
Working Conditions: The Roll Form Maintenance Technician is a safety-sensitive position that involves working directly with machinery and equipment. The position frequently involves exposure to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature can occasionally exceed outside air temperature.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees, walk, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and frequently climb (stairs).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Capable of working in confined spaces and off the ground with height variances
  • Must be flexible and able to change schedule and hours of work to meet the needs of the organization

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Education:
    • A High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with completion of trade school, a journeyman's program, or formal training as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Work Experience:
    • At least two years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician
    • Hands-on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics experience in a roll forming or metal stamping manufacturing environment is preferred
    • Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Understanding mechanical, air, hydraulic, and other systems, working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
    • Knowledgeable and hands-on experience in working with basic electric 110/220/480 volt
    • Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics, blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Organizational & Communication Skills:
    • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively
    • Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work in a dynamic environment
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
