Your Job

Join i5’s M&A and Corporate Development team, supporting technology companies on cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate development, and business development transactions.

As a Senior Associate, you will contribute to transaction design, origination, structuring, and execution. You will use your understanding of the technology industry to identify market and product trends and develop pitch materials and transaction documents that support our clients’ objectives.

Working in small deal teams, you will take ownership of project workstreams and supervise financial analysis, financial modeling, client presentations, and market research. You will work directly with clients and provide guidance to Associates and other team members, with meaningful exposure to senior bankers and technology company executives across major technology sectors.

Your Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the project manager on corporate development and M&A projects.
  • Analyze and evaluate technologies, business models, and industry sectors.
  • Coordinate extensive quantitative, economic, industry, and company research.
  • Independently manage project workstreams, including transaction documents, financial models, and company presentations.
  • Review junior team members’ work and train them in financial modeling, valuation, comparable company analysis, and relative valuation.
  • Lead the preparation of due diligence documentation and manage due diligence processes from start to finish.

Your Hard Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in M&A, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, or management consulting within the technology industry.
  • Previous M&A experience is required.
  • Excellent Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in startups, the technology community, entrepreneurship, and venture capital.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • CFA or Series 7 is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to learn quickly and understand business models and financial concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good listening skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maturity and sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative ideas or product solutions.
