Founding GTM

San Francisco · On-site$120k – $200k + Equity

About this role

About HydraDB

AI is stateless — HydraDB fixes that with graphs. We build the graph-native context and memory infrastructure that gives AI agents persistent context: a GraphDB built on object storage with semantic search, git-style temporal versioning, and entity resolution. We've raised $6.5M from investors including Jeff Dean, Sky9 Capital, and researchers from OpenAI and DeepMind.

About the team

HydraDB is executing GTM across three lanes: enterprise anchor deals, Shadow Mode pilots, and PLG self-serve. The ICP is Directors of Engineering and Heads of AI at seed-to-Series D AI companies — roughly 1, 000 addressable accounts in the Bay Area alone. We have traction, open enterprise conversations, and a product that sells itself to anyone who sees it. What we don't yet have is the person to own the pipeline end to end.

About the role

This is a build-the-engine-from-scratch role, not an execute-an-existing-playbook one. You will source, qualify, close, and expand deals across all three GTM lanes. You will sit next to the CEO on deal strategy and positioning and be the first person accountable to a revenue number. If you've ever wanted to build a GTM motion from zero at a company that is genuinely differentiated, this is it.

In this role, you will

  • Own end-to-end pipeline: sourcing through expansion
  • Run outbound to Directors of Engineering and Heads of AI at seed-to-Series D AI companies
  • Drive enterprise deal cycles from first call to signed contract
  • Design and iterate on the GTM motion: what works, what doesn't, and how we scale it
  • Work closely with the CEO on positioning, deal strategy, and ICP refinement

Your background looks something like this

  • Early-stage GTM experience, ideally at a developer tools or infra company
  • You've owned a number and been held accountable to it
  • Technical enough to have credible conversations with engineering leaders
  • Builder mentality: you enjoy creating structure, not following it
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Even better if you have

  • Sold to AI engineering teams before
  • Experience running PLG and enterprise motion in parallel
  • An existing network in the Bay Area AI/ML ecosystem

Benefits

  • Competitive comp + meaningful equity: we want builders to own a real piece of what they create
  • High-ownership, high-agency: ship GTM infrastructure, talk to customers, and see your work close deals fast
  • Wellness programs, free daily meals in the office, and top-tier gear + software
  • Flexible PTO: optimize for deep work, not busywork
  • Learning budget: books, courses, conferences, and compute for experiments
  • Team offsites: periodic time together to plan, build, and reset
