Product Portfolio Specialist
Huntsman is seeking a Portfolio Project Specialist supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Costa Rica. This position will report to the Product Portfolio Manager.
Job Scope
The Portfolio Project Specialist will support the continued optimization of the Americas Advanced Materials product portfolio. Acting as a key cross-functional partner, this role coordinates portfolio activities across the organization to ensure effective portfolio management, data integrity, and successful lifecycle execution. This position is part of a highly collaborative Product Portfolio team consisting of Product Portfolio Managers and Specialists who work closely together to execute portfolio initiatives, balance priorities, share expertise, and support successful project delivery across the Americas product portfolio. Success in this role requires strong teamwork, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative environment.
In summary, as the Portfolio Project Specialist, you will:
Execute product portfolio management processes and track portfolio lifecycle performance.
Build effective working relationships across functional teams to facilitate problem solving, drive alignment, and ensure timely execution of portfolio initiatives.
Lead execution of cross-functional portfolio projects, coordinating Commercial, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives and portfolio readiness.
Partner closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to evaluate portfolio costs, identify opportunities, and support informed business decisions.
Manage Advanced Materials product portfolio information in SAP and Master Data systems.
Execute portfolio change activities within the SAP Material Master module while ensuring process compliance.
Review and track portfolio costs in collaboration with procurement and manufacturing teams.
Support the innovation stage gate process and ensure timely completion of portfolio-related tasks.
Review opportunity pipeline projects to validate capacity, timelines, and Material Master Data alignment.
Monitor and report project-related inventory in partnership with Supply Chain.
Maintain portfolio sample inventory and support the Operational Marketing team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Technical Service, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Regulatory.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
All candidates are expected to work at our office in AFZ, Heredia on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please note that there may be occasions where additional office days are required, due specific business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, or a related business discipline.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
Experience working with SAP, including Material Master module.
Fluent English communication skills (written, reading, and oral).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated track record of coordinating projects or processes involving multiple stakeholders and achieving results through influence rather than direct authority.
Experience supporting product portfolio management processes.
Experience working with innovation stage gate processes.
Knowledge of product lifecycle management and portfolio optimization activities.
Experience collaborating with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams.
Working Environment
Office-based environment with frequent interaction across global and cross-functional teams.
Travel up to 10% of the time.
