We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of multi-tasking, communicating with both colleagues and patients and working in a variety of settings. Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate care for patients eight years and older with sleep disorders.
Assess and examine patients presenting with concern for or known history of obstructive and/or central sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, shift work disorder, circadian rhythm disorders, restless leg syndrome, periodic limb movement disorder, parasomnias, hypersomnolence, and REM behavior disorder.
Provide a comprehensive evaluation of the treatment plan with alterations, if necessary, in regular increments, as determined by medical necessity and insurance requirements.
Develop a treatment plan for Narcolepsy and Idiopathic Hypersomnia patients, which includes on-going evaluation of effectiveness, side effects, and safety concerns.
Initiate referrals for further evaluation to Otolaryngologists, Pulmonologists, Cardiologists, Dentists, and Psychologists; this may involve further collaboration in order to best serve the patient.
Collaborate with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers to ensure timely acquisition of necessary equipment and supplies.
The hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
Sleep Medicine specialty recommended but not required.
