POSITION SUMMARY
The Laundry Driver is responsible for the timely, safe pickup and delivery of laundry items between Hope Haven and client and partner locations. The position works Monday through Saturday, 4–5 days per week, from 8:00 AM to approximately 1:00 PM. This role also provides operational coverage for the Laundry Manager during scheduled absences or vacations, helping ensure the laundry department continues to run smoothly in their absence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving & Delivery (Scheduled Shifts, 8:00 AM – Approximately 1:00 PM)
Operate a company van or box truck to pick up and deliver laundry items on assigned routes, Monday through Saturday, 4–5 days per week
Load, unload, and transport laundry bags/bins safely and efficiently, verifying item counts against manifests or tickets
Obtain proper signatures or confirmations at each pickup and delivery stop and maintain accurate delivery logs
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly
Follow all applicable traffic laws and Hope Haven vehicle safety policies
Represent Hope Haven professionally, demonstrating great customer service and providing courteous and reliable service to clients and partner sites
Operational Fill-In (When Laundry Manager Is Off or on Vacation)
Serve as the point of contact for the laundry department during the Laundry Manager's scheduled absence
Oversee day-to-day laundry operations, including processing, sorting, and quality checks
Coordinate laundry staff schedules and assignments as needed to keep operations running smoothly
Monitor supply levels (detergent, linens, packaging, etc.) and flag reorder needs to management
Address routine client or staff questions and issues, escalating as needed
Brief the Laundry Manager on any operational issues or decisions made upon their return
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience in driving, delivery, laundry, or hospitality services is a plus
Comfortable and capable of safely driving both a van and box truck
Strong time-management, organizational, and route-planning skills
Comfortable working independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
Reliable, punctual, and dependable attendance
Basic problem-solving and light supervisory ability for fill-in periods
Ability to pass a background check and driving record review
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry laundry bags/bins up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, bending, walking, and loading/unloading throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate both a van and box truck for repeated stops throughout the shift
SCHEDULE
Part-time, Monday through Saturday, 4–5 days per week, 8:00 AM to approximately 1:00 PM
Additional hours may be required during Laundry Manager absences or as operational needs arise
