Position Summary:
 
We are seeking a dependable individual with great attention to detail to join us as a Furniture Inspector in our Hickory, NC location.  
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect furniture for defects in finish, construction, or upholstery to ensure conformance with manufacturing standards:
  • Verify upholstery material i.e. fabric, leather using production ticket specifications and systemic verification procedure.
  • Inspect upholstery for rips in fabric or seams.
  • Feel upholstery padding for consistent padding application.
  • Examine finished wooden surfaces for defects and utilizes swatch standards for proper finish.
  • Mark defects properly for repair verification upon reject.
  • Check off inspection points on each production ticket.
  • Record rejects on daily Inspection forms.
  • Make minor adjustments i.e. nail trim, remove occasional exposed staple, regulate fill, steam wrinkles, etc.
 
Candidates that would be a great fit:
  • Have previous Quality Control or inspection experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Be an excellent communicator who can clearly and professionally communicate with other departments if a product is sent back per inspection standards.
  • Physically able to stand for up to 8-10 hours per day, Able to push and pull up to 50 lbs. comfortably.
  • Have good attention to detail and desire to produce not just quantity, but high-quality products.
  • Be goal orientated, self-motivated, and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
 
Shift: Monday to Thursday 7am – 4:30pm & Friday 7a-11a
 
Pay: Depends on experience
