What You’ll Do
As a Yard Specialist, you'll:
- Conduct routine yard inspections to identify damaged or inoperable tractors and trailers
- Create repair orders and document repair estimates for equipment requiring maintenance
- Coordinate with external vendors by submitting repair requests for work outside the scope of the shop
- Perform minor repairs, including replacing tires, lights, mud flaps, and other basic maintenance items.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient yard by ensuring equipment is properly positioned and parked
- Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For
You'll excel here if you bring:
Required
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of experience in the transportation, fleet maintenance, or related industry
- OR equivalent military experience
- Valid driver's license, CDL A preferred
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the role
Strongly Preferred
- Certifications (EPA 609, Cummins, Navistar, Daimler)
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools (Cummins Insite, DTNA, Bendix, etc.)
- Class 8 truck repair experience (electronics, PMs, brakes, suspension)
Skills and certifications help - but a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn go a long way with us.
Work Environment
- On-site
- Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Role requires frequent physical activity including walking, climbing, lifting, and operating heavy equipment
