Job Summary:

The HR Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the HR department with a focus on benefits, leave administration, payroll-related compliance, and HRIS administration, while playing a key role in employee relations and the overall employee experience. This role serves as a first point of contact for employees, whether they’re calling with a question, initiating a leave, or raising an employee relations concern, and supports engagement and culture building efforts that shape how employees experience the organization. The HR Generalist partners closely with HR Business Partners to support organizational changes and low-risk workplace investigations

Essential Duties:

Employee Support

  • Answer incoming HR phone calls, route inquiries as appropriate, and provide first-level employee support
  • Serve as the primary intake contact for employee relations concerns; document, summarize, and escalate to HR Business Partners as appropriate
  • Support low-risk workplace investigations, including documentation, interview coordination, and summary preparation

 

Benefits

  • Coordinate employee benefits enrollment and changes, including process enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Serve as point of contact for benefit related inquiries
  • Support benefit education events and open enrollment activities
  • Act as first point of contact for employees initiating a leave of absence, providing guidance on process, eligibility, and next steps
  • Coordinate with the external leave administrator to ensure seamless communication and timely processing of leave requests

 

Compliance & HRIS

  • Process wage garnishments accurately and within required timelines
  • Respond to unemployment claims and provide documentation as needed
  • Enter and maintain employee data in the HRIS, including new hires, job changes, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of regulatory requirements

 

 

Communications & Engagement

  • Maintain and update HR content on internal platforms such as The Pulse, ensuring updates are posted weekly and reflect accurate, current information
  • Lead planning, coordination, and innovation of company-wide employee engagement and culture-building events
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to support organizational changes such as restructures, transfers, and departmental updates
  • Support other HR projects and initiatives assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Work Environment: 

In Office  

 

Travel Required: 
May be required on a minimal basis to our field locations on an as needed basis (I.e. Open Enrollment Education Meetings, etc.) 

 

Schedule: 
Monday – Friday; 8am-5pm 

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s in human resources or equivalent  
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in administrative roles, preferably in human resources or related setting.  
  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) software, or other HR-related tasks may be required or preferred.
