Available Shifts

  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Overtime may be required based on production needs.

On-Time Attendance Bonus

In addition to your regular hourly rate, eligible employees can earn an On-Time Attendance Bonus:

  • $1.00/hour for hours worked between 4:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • $1.75/hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Employees must meet Highland Baking Company's attendance requirements to qualify for the bonus.

Job Summary

The Packing Employee is responsible for inspecting, packing, and preparing finished bakery products while maintaining Highland Baking Company's food safety, quality, and production standards. This position works as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect finished bakery products for quality and remove products that do not meet specifications.
  • Place products onto conveyors, slicers, baggers, and other packaging equipment.
  • Operate or assist with packaging machines and equipment as assigned.
  • Pack finished products into properly labeled boxes or plastic trays.
  • Stack finished cases according to product and pallet specifications.
  • Move racks and products to the appropriate packing lines.
  • Transport stacked products to the wrapping machine.
  • Transport wrapped pallets to the Shipping staging area for QA inspection and release to the freezer.
  • Clean trays, molds, pans, equipment, and work areas as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all food safety, quality, sanitation, and production procedures.
  • Report food safety, product quality, or workplace safety concerns immediately to a supervisor or member of management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to learn and safely operate various packaging machines and equipment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be dependable, attentive, accurate, and safety-conscious.
  • Ability to maintain required quality and productivity standards throughout the shift.
  • Must follow all Highland Baking Company safety and food safety requirements, including:
    • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
    • Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Color Coding Policies
  • Commitment to Highland Baking Company's quality, safety, and departmental goals.
