This position is responsible for reading the work orders for special instructions for cutting the leather for upholstery furniture.
Primary Duties
Verifies that leather and pattern correspond to the work order.
Inspects leather for defects and verifies the dye lots.
Locates correct pattern and checks swatches for proper alignment of leather.
Marks out the leather and cuts to proper size and shape.
Marks and bundles all parts together and places in proper area for pick-up.
Records all yardages used on ticket.
Maintains equipment and work area in an orderly manner.
Must follow all safety policies and procedures.
All other duties as assigned.
QualificationsPosition Requirements
High school diploma/GED preferred
Previous leather cutting experience preferred

Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks
Must be able to work in noisy environments
Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble product or operate machine as directed
Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; rarely lifting/carrying objects 51-75 lbs.
