The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment at Hickmans Egg Ranch. This role includes troubleshooting electrical issues, ensuring compliance with safety and code standards, and supporting the efficient operation of production and facility systems. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment while ensuring the reliable operation of all electrical systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures according to code specifications and safety regulations.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical issues, using diagnostic tools to assess and repair electrical systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to carry out electrical projects accurately.
Conduct regular maintenance checks on electrical components, including motors, wiring, circuit breakers, and lighting systems.
Perform wiring and re-wiring for new and existing installations, adhering to local electrical codes and safety standards.
Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and optimize facility efficiency.
Document maintenance and repair work, including parts used, time spent, and actions taken.
Ensure compliance with all Hickmans safety policies, using appropriate PPE and following all safety protocols.
Train and mentor junior electricians or trainees, sharing knowledge of best practices and safety procedures.
Keep work area organized and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
QualificationsRequirements and Skills
Valid electrician’s license or certification required.
Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial or agricultural environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety protocols, and local regulations.
Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic and testing equipment.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical capability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces, heights, and exposure to heat or noise.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
