Job Summary
The Learning Experience Designer (LED) brings the learning and development vision to life by designing, contextualizing and delivering meaningful learning programs for the Health Care District (HCD). The LED will work collaboratively with the Learning and Organizational Development (L&OD) Team and HCD personnel across departments to identify, implement, and apply solid learning theory in the creation of an effective, engaging, and interactive learning experience. The role involves consulting with leaders from diverse disciplines to identify learning and development goals and applicable evidence-based instructional strategies. An area of focus is the integration of innovative online and technology-enhanced training components to improve learning across different delivery modes. As a member of the L&OD team, the LED will also provide user training to HCD personnel through workshops, webinars, video tutorials, etc., regarding topics related to online learning, the Cornerstone LMS, course/training design, and integration of instructional technology.
Essential Functions:
Create engaging and outcomes-driven learning experiences by leveraging innovative instructional design methods, patterns, and frameworks.
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to curate existing learning components, design new content and contextualize existing content to meet learning needs, context and industry.
Create materials for instructors onboarding to learner contexts and program content.
Work with department leaders to define key skills, competencies, learning objectives and pathways within the discipline.
Support the Human Resources team in identifying customer and learner needs and goals and proposing learning solutions.
Work with current and potential vendors, contractors and freelancers in content, assessment, and support material production.
Design the development of supplemental training materials such as job aids, posters, and surveys.
The Health Care District of Palm Beach County is an independent special taxing district that has served as a healthcare safety net for more than 36 years to fill in gaps in access to healthcare services. This unique healthcare system covers the entire county and provides a wide range of services such as nine community health centers (Federally Qualified Health Centers) which serve everyone regardless of ability to pay; school health teams in 172 public schools; a lifesaving Trauma Hawk aeromedical helicopter program; a rural, public teaching hospital, Lakeside Medical Center; an award-winning skilled nursing center; a ground ambulance program for Health Care District patients needing a higher level of care and the county’s Trauma Agency, which ensures quality outcomes within the county’s trauma system and leads initiatives to prevent traumatic injury.
