About this role
The Echocardiography Technologist performs Echocardiograms on both inpatients and outpatients. Duties include: performing M-mode, 2-D, Doppler and color flow echocardiograms in accordance with hospital procedure; interpreting echocardiograms and documenting pathology; assisting physicians with trans esophageal echocardiograms; performing dobutamine stress echocardiography and recumbent bike stress echocardiography tests; writing preliminary reports for cardiologists interpreting echocardiograms; restocking and cleaning of workspace, providing patient care within scope and other duties as may be assigned.
- Current member in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist of Ontario (CMRITO).
- Successful completion of a recognized Echocardiography course.
- Basic knowledge of ECG interpretation.
- Membership with ARDMS or Sonography Canada an asset.
- One year of relevant Echocardiography experience.
- Demonstration of ongoing education an asset.
- Additional relevant certification an asset.
- Current BCLS.
