About this role

The Echocardiography Technologist performs Echocardiograms on both inpatients and outpatients. Duties include: performing M-mode, 2-D, Doppler and color flow echocardiograms in accordance with hospital procedure; interpreting echocardiograms and documenting pathology; assisting physicians with trans esophageal echocardiograms; performing dobutamine stress echocardiography and recumbent bike stress echocardiography tests; writing preliminary reports for cardiologists interpreting echocardiograms; restocking and cleaning of workspace, providing patient care within scope and other duties as may be assigned.



  1. Current member in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist of Ontario (CMRITO).
  2. Successful completion of a recognized Echocardiography course.
  3. Basic knowledge of ECG interpretation.
  4. Membership with ARDMS or Sonography Canada an asset.
  5. One year of relevant Echocardiography experience.
  6. Demonstration of ongoing education an asset.
  7. Additional relevant certification an asset.
  8. Current BCLS.
