Join us as a Payroll Administrator, where you will support the finance department by ensuring accurate and consistent financial records in alignment with nonprofit accounting standards.

Your Impact

Own and manage the organization’s bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and resolution of discrepancies
Serve as the organization’s subject-matter expert and primary escalation point for payroll practices, systems, policies, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements
Monitor changes in payroll, wage-and-hour, tax, and related regulatory requirements and recommend necessary policy, process, or system changes
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve payroll policies, procedures, workflows, and internal controls
Serve as the primary functional owner of Paycom’s payroll module, including configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of new features and integrations
Manage payroll-related vendor relationships and coordinate with Paycom, benefit administrators, retirement plan providers, and other partners
Review payroll data, reconciliations, and reports; investigate variances and recurring issues; and implement corrective actions as needed
Ensure accurate and timely completion of year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation, reconciliations, and required reporting
Partner with Human Resources to process compensation changes, employee deductions, benefits, leave-related payroll matters, onboarding, and other personnel changes affecting payroll
Provide guidance and training to employees and managers regarding payroll, timekeeping requirements, and related policies
Oversee the accurate recording and reconciliation of payroll activity within NetSuite ERP, including general ledger activity and labor allocations across projects, entities, and grant programs
Administer payroll-related benefit activity, including 401(k) enrollment and contributions, HSA contributions, reimbursements, deductions, and other payroll adjustments
Prepare and provide timekeeping and labor cost information in support of monthly grant draws
Prepare and record general journal entries supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and audits, and support internal and external payroll-related audit requests
Reconcile cash receipts within NetSuite ERP and oversee the accurate deposit and recording of physical checks, miscellaneous cash transactions, and transfers

QualificationsWhat You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or business management, or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of experience processing, recording, reconciling, and reporting payroll
Strong familiarity with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system
Proven organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume workload, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines efficiently and effectively
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with and willingness to utilize AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc. to improve efficiency
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
