Position Purpose
This position is responsible for managing day-to-day store department functions through effective management of staff and volunteers, the processing of merchandise and donations, and for providing excellent customer service.
Essential Functions
Manage daily department operations to ensure the ReStore meets sales goals and objectives
Consistently provide an exceptional level of both internal and external customer service
Guarantee safe and prompt handling of merchandise and donations according to processes, policies, and procedures
Operate a cash register periodically, as needed
Assist in the receiving of items that are dropped off when assistance is needed on the receiving dock
Provide supervision and a uphold safe and clean environment for employees, volunteers and customers
Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude when interacting with employees, customers, donors, volunteers and the public
Be an effective team member when working with staff and volunteers, ensuring the engagement and motivation of others
Represent Habitat in a positive, professional manner
Key-Carrying Supervisor responsible for independently opening and closing the store, and cash handling procedures
Ability to read, count, and accurately complete all end-of-day documentation
Document and conduct Corrective Action as needed
Ensure a meaningful volunteer experience
Adhere to schedule
Regular and reliable job attendance
Dependable transportation to work
Maintain a presentable appearance, including ReStore appropriate attire
Ability to adhere to Habitat’s Code of Conduct policies and other policies
Habitat of the Charlotte Region-related tasks as requested by supervisor
QualificationsQualifications
POS experience
Management & Customer Service experience
Skills and Abilities
Basic computer and math skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment
This position requires working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather, as well as warehouse/dock setting with or without climate control.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to move merchandise throughout the store
Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, 70 lbs. with assistance
Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, Saturdays, and periodic holidays
Ability to obtain Forklift Certification and operate a forklift on a regular basis
Ability to climb steps to Forklift cab
Estimated Time Commitment: 40 plus hours/week, Rotating Sunday - Saturday schedule. Shifts are scheduled based on the needs of the store.
