Position Summary

The Sales Associate is a frontline representative of the ReStore, responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and creating a positive shopping experience. This role involves assisting customers with product inquiries, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, restocking merchandise, and supporting the overall efficiency of daily retail operations. The Sales Associate plays a vital role in promoting the ReStore’s mission by ensuring a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for all shoppers.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a lead cashier, processing all customer transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system

Maintain a balanced cash drawer and follow all cash handling procedures

Greet customers warmly and assist with questions, purchases, and general inquiries

Promote positive customer experience at the register and throughout the sales floor

Support merchandising efforts by pricing, stocking, and organizing products as needed

Help maintain cleanliness and organization at the front end and throughout the store

Assist customers with loading purchases, with occasional lifting of heavy items (up to 50 lbs)

Follow all store safety, operational, and customer service policies

Actively represent and promote the mission and values of Habitat Charlotte Region

QualificationsQualifications

Retail cashier experience preferred

Reliable transportation to and from ReStore

Strong commitment to customer service and transaction accuracy

Ability to handle cash and operate a POS system confidently

Friendly, helpful attitude with strong communication skills

Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods

Team-oriented, dependable, and punctual

Flexible availability, including weekends

Work Environment

This role is active and physical, involving frequent standing, lifting, and working in both retail and donation/warehouse spaces. It also includes regular interaction with a diverse customer base, donors, volunteers, and staff.
