Senior / Staff Product Engineer
About this role
We are looking for a Senior or Staff Product Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join Bretton AI and build customer-facing AI-powered products that automate financial crime compliance for banks and fintechs. You'll be a full-stack engineer with a strong foundation from top engineering cultures, a track record of building zero-to-one products at startups, and a genuine passion for solving complex problems with real customer impact. This is a high-ownership role where you'll work directly with customers and ship features that process thousands of compliance cases, saving teams significant time and directly driving revenue. What will you be doing?
Own substantial product features end-to-end — from customer discovery and requirements gathering through to production deployment and iteration.
Build agentic workflows that coordinate AI tools and data services to automate AML, sanctions, and KYC reviews while keeping humans in the loop.
Develop intuitive interfaces for case management, reporting, analytics, and workflow configuration for compliance teams.
Work directly with enterprise compliance customers to deeply understand their needs and translate complex problems into elegant technical solutions.
Ship reliable, production-grade full-stack code across backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend using TypeScript, Python, Node.js, and React.
