What You’ll Do
- Operate loaders and other equipment to process waste and recyclable materials
- Sort recyclable commodities and remove contamination from incoming loads
- Load waste into compactors and transfer trailers for transport
- Operate transfer station compactors safely and efficiently
- Back trailers into transfer bays and connect them to compacting equipment
- Load trailers according to established weight limits and transportation requirements
- Prepare outbound trailers by securing doors, cleaning equipment and performing inspections
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections using electronic reporting systems
- Report equipment issues and complete maintenance work orders using computer software
- Maintain yard containers and assist with general facility upkeep
- Perform site cleanup and ensure a safe, organized work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and environmental regulations
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of equipment operating experience required
- Experience operating loaders, compactors or other heavy equipment preferred
- CDL A license preferred
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- High school diploma or GED required
Work Schedule & Location
Location: Jackson, MI
Regular schedule: Monday – Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. (30-minute lunch), Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
