Job Title: Donation Door Attendant

Goodwill Southwest Florida is seeking a Donation Door Attendant to serve as a front-line representative of the organization while receiving, recording, and sorting donated goods through the Kaizen system. This position provides excellent customer service to donors, maintains a clean and safe donation area, and ensures donations are processed according to established procedures and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet donors and customers with a friendly demeanor, eye contact, and excellent customer service.
- Receive donations by loading items from donor vehicles into hoppers, recording donations, and providing donation receipts.
- Evaluate donations using established guidelines and tactfully communicate when items cannot be accepted.
- Thank donors for their contributions and maintain courteous interactions at all times.
- Maintain clean, neat, and debris-free donation areas both inside and outside the facility.
- Sort donations using the current Track Method and follow all RAW/Outlet sorting and labeling guidelines.
- Properly sort and place pulls, outlet merchandise, recyclable commodities, and other materials into designated containers, hoppers, Gaylords, totes, or assigned locations to support aftermarket operations and minimize disposal expenses.
- Remove unsafe pallets and Gaylords from service and safely load and unload storage trailers.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Practice all aspects of the company's customer service program.
- Follow all company policies and complete required training programs.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality according to assigned schedules.
- Perform processing, cleaning, fixture and equipment support, and other store-related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Retail and/or stock handling experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and independently stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
- Ability to use a donation tablet.
- Ability to frequently lift at least 40 pounds and occasionally team-lift up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, patience, and understanding while providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to occasionally work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
