Unarmed Security Officers - Weekend/Part Time

Goodwill Columbus is looking for friendly, reliable Unarmed Security Officers to help keep our business partner’s facilities safe and welcoming. In this role, you'll be the first-person visitors see, provide excellent customer service, and help create a secure environment for employees, visitors, and clients.
Pay, Schedule & Location
- Pay: $16 to $19/hour
- Schedule: Part Time
- Location: Columbus, OH (Metro Area)
What You'll Do
- Greet visitors, employees, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Check identification and control access to the building.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and activity throughout the facility.
- Patrol assigned areas and stay alert to safety and security concerns.
- Respond to emergencies and report incidents as needed.
- Complete security logs and other required documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service and help direct visitors to the right location.
- Help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for everyone.
What We're Looking For
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Professional, dependable, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Good observation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Previous security experience is a plus.
- Stable work history with a record of reliability and attendance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience may include security, loss prevention, military service, or similar roles.
- Ability to write clear reports and communicate effectively.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Monitor facilities and security cameras.
- Move through out assigned areas as needed.
- Respond quickly to emergencies and safety concerns.
