Part-Time Producer – ESPN Chicago

ESPN Chicago, home of ESPN 1000 and the Chicago Bears and White Sox Radio Networks, is looking for a Part-Time Producer to support programming and content across its audio and digital platforms. As one of the country’s most passionate sports markets, Chicago provides no shortage of compelling stories, conversations and opportunities to connect with fans.

This teammate will work closely with hosts, producers and other teammates on show planning, content development and live program execution while also supporting audio, video, digital and social content. The Part-Time Producer will collaborate across ESPN Chicago to help deliver engaging, high-quality sports programming and content for fans.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a live sports media environment, can think on their feet and wants to build experience across audio, video, digital and social content. Hours will vary based on programming and coverage needs and will primarily include evenings and weekends. 

Career responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operate the radio board for live, syndicated and locally produced programming, maintaining appropriate audio levels and smoothly transitioning between sources.
  • Work with hosts and producers on show planning, content development and live program execution.
  • Create and implement production elements, including bumpers, liners, audio drops and sound effects.
  • Edit audio from live programming for podcasts, digital distribution and other content needs.
  • Cut, edit and post video from live shows and other programming for YouTube and ESPN Chicago digital and social platforms.
  • Identify potential contributors, guests and interview opportunities that support programming and content.
  • Support social media execution surrounding shows and programming, including timely posts, clips and links.
  • Convert and prepare text, graphics, video and audio files for use across all digital platforms.
  • Maintain and utilize audio archives and other content resources to support programming.
  • Respond to audience feedback and connect with other departments as appropriate.
  • Follow established broadcast and station procedures and communicate technical or operational issues as needed.
  • Use audio and video editing tools, including GoldWave, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition and other production software, to support programming and content needs.

Pay Transparency: The anticipated hourly range for Illinois-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $17.05 - $18.00. The hourly rate is to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

Good Karma Sports part-time teammates are paid hourly with opportunity for increased pay with increased skills and responsibilities. This role will require teammates to work evenings & weekends.
