About this role
General Purpose:
Develop and maintain the mechanical and operational understanding required to assemble, analyze, inspect, troubleshoot, test fire, and repair GLOCK rifles accurately and efficiently according to the standard work instructions.
Shift(s) Available:
- 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Assemble GLOCK rifles according to company procedures and quality specifications while maximizing internal productivity goals.
- Understand the general mechanics, operation, properties, and characteristics of the GLOCK rifle platform and use that understanding to precisely analyze, inspect, assemble, test fire, and repair production rifles for proper function and quality.
- Understand and recognize GLOCK part differences and functional mechanics and utilize that knowledge to inspect production parts for accuracy and quality.
- Able to read and interpret highly detailed and specific work instructions.
- Build and inspect bolt carrier group - ensure that the correct, undamaged parts are properly assembled per the BOM. Learn and understand proper mechanics and function of the subassembly and meticulously analyze each part for quality and conformity with our standard.
- Build and inspect trigger group - ensure that the correct, undamaged parts are properly assembled per the BOM. Learn and understand proper mechanics and function of the subassembly and meticulously analyze each part for quality and conformity with our standard.
- Build and inspect lower receiver and components – ensure that the correct, undamaged parts are properly assembled per the BOM. Closely inspect the lower receiver to ensure that no cosmetic or manufacturing defects are present. Learn and understand proper mechanics and function of the lower receiver and meticulously analyze each part for quality and conformity with our standard.
- Build and inspect the upper receiver – ensure that the correct, undamaged parts are properly assembled per the BOM. Closely inspect the upper receiver to ensure that no cosmetic or manufacturing defects are present. Learn and understand proper mechanics and function of the subassembly and meticulously analyze each part for quality and conformity with our standard.
- Install the completed upper receiver onto the completed lower receiver while ensuring that all components are visually, functionally, and operationally correct. Learn and understand proper mechanics and function to meticulously analyze each component and completed rifle for quality and conformity with our standard.
- Test fire completed production rifles with standard and proof ammunition, ensuring all rifles meet our reliability and accuracy standards. Perform all supporting functions of test fire to include magazine loading, inspection of rifles, fixture setup as well as continuous safe handling of all firearms.
- Clean and inspect rifles after test fire, including bore brushing the barrel, cleaning the exterior of the firearm, inspecting for defects, and ensuring that the build configuration is correct per the BOM.
- Assist with the service and repair of GLOCK customer rifles when necessary, replacing all worn or obsolete components to ensure proper function, reliability, and quality are upheld.
- Extensive tool usage to include hand torque wrenches, small punches, gauges, vices, and other various sized and shaped hand tools used to install components into the rifle. Inspect equipment and ensure proper setup before and during use.
- Operate and observe manual fixtures, manual tools, and hand torque wrenches during the assembly process, ensuring that no damage occurs to the internal parts, lower receivers, upper receivers, or barrels throughout.
- Ensure that all documentation is correct including quantities and other records.
- Be aware and compliant with all ATF/NFA regulations, ensuring that all rifles are built according to the proper specifications in accordance with what was filed with BATFE.
- Able to perform small projects such as rework, inspection, repair, etc. Able to diagnose and address issues independently and take action to resolve them.
- Learn and adhere to all torque specifications on the rifle and ensure that those specifications are followed closely.
- Maintain knowledge of Quality Control requirements and procedures to ensure proper identification, diagnosis, and disposition of nonconforming parts.
- Fully understand and strictly adhere to all GLOCK safety policies while on company property or representing GLOCK.
- Supports all LEAN activities in the production area, especially the sustainable execution and implementation of 5S principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process improvement (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles to achieve highest quality standards.
- Computer skills to process PTO requests, and complete monthly/annual required training courses
- Must be punctual, present, in regular attendance, and have a flexible work schedule.
- Ensures compliance with legal- and company ordinances in his/her areas of responsibility.
- Ensures compliance to ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her area of responsibility.
- Keeps his/her standard of knowledge up-to-date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measures.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or a GED |
|
1-2 years related experience |

Preferred previous firearms experience |
Licenses and Certifications:

A GLOCK Armorer Certificate
|
|
Certificate from a credited Gunsmith School preferred |
|
Experience in maintenance repair of rifles or in handling rifles/firearms
|

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to factors of a production working environment. These factors may include (but are not limited to) repetitive movement, temperatures ranging from 65°F-80°F, oils/chemicals, moving/mechanical equipment, a fast-paced/regimented work flow, and elevated noise exposure.
