Student Worker (Academic Coach)

About this role

Academic Coaches help Regent students become stronger self-learners by developing their writing, reading, and study skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Regent undergraduate through doctoral students with their writing, reading, & study skills in one-on-one sessions over video, phone, and in-person (if applicable)
  • Host drop-in hours and group coaching sessions
  • Provide administrative support, including emails, phone calls, appointment scheduling, and resource creation (if applicable)
  • Participate in team-wide trainings and meetings (e.g. monthly virtual staff meeting)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred - Undergraduate students with strong writing skills are still encouraged to apply
  • Completion of ENGL 102 and ENGL 301/501 with a B+ or higher
  • Strong communication skills, expertise in research-based writing, ability to work independently, and willingness to serve others 
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, kindness, and active listening
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Google Meets
  • Commitment to Regent’s core values of Excellence, Innovation, and Integrity 

Salary: $14.00 per hour
