About this role

The Academic Services Manager & Field Placement role supports the Department of Counseling Ministries by managing daily academic operations, student services, and field placements. This role will coordinate key administrative functions, assist students and faculty, and help ensure compliance with academic and accreditation requirements. This role will also work on all aspects of the dissertation process, including contracts and submissions to ProQuest.

Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Salary: $15.40 - 20.40 per hour

Essential duties:

  • Serve as the primary contact for students and faculty regarding academic processes and field placement guidance.
  • Manage academic operations including scheduling, records, compliance tracking, and data reporting.
  • Oversee all phases of the dissertation process, from contract setup to final ProQuest submission.
  • Coordinate department events, faculty meetings, calendars, and logistical support for travel and guest speakers.
  • Hold monthly meetings with students to provide guidance and support related to their field experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum one year of administrative experience, preferably in higher education

Candidates must have:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn systems like Banner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Discretion with sensitive or confidential information
