Compensation: $33.65 per hour (plus OT and incentive bonus)
The General Manager - Core Volume (GM) is accountable for the success of a single core-volume GGET Coffee Shop. The GM is goaled with leading their assigned Coffee Shop to year-over-year growth in their gross receipts while managing costs by keeping appropriate inventory, limiting waste, and building effective schedules. They recruit and motivate high-performing teams by leading with empathy and regularly pulling feedback, while ensuring continued learning and development.
The GM leads the Cafe Team, Kitchen Team, Shift Lead and Assistant Cafe Lead. They actively grow their bench of future leaders by instilling accountability and demonstrating resourcefulness. A GM at a core-volume coffee shop will be expected to lead by example and direction. They will typically spend 20+ hours per week working the floor, alongside their team. The GM must maintain availability to work both weekend days and occasionally holidays. Must
have reliable transportation to work and for work-related errands.
In this role, you will...
Recruit and motivate an excellent team
Oversee recruiting and new hire onboarding
Plan trainings and development for the team
Implement regular employee check ins to provide and pull feedback
Perform disciplinary actions when necessary
Build your bench and develop a team of excellent leaders, baristas, and cooks
Achieve the desired financial results
Lead local marketing efforts to grow guest traffic through community outreach, events, and ambassadorship
Pull relevant data related to labor management and ordering to ensure that controllable costs are effectively managed within budget
Write effective schedule, and approve timesheets, and ensure good timekeeping practices
Effectively manage pars and end of period inventory
Keep products in stock and maintain your operating hours and online ordering uptime
Foster a safe and clean cafe environment for guests and employees
Maintain a coffee shop environment where the safety of team members and guests is prioritized
Seek out and eliminate sources of discomfort for our guests
Maintain an “A” rating with the LA County Department of Public Health
Regularly walk the shop to experience the shop from the guest’s perspective
Manage R&M budget and ensure that equipment is used properly and kept in good repair
Other Job Duties
Attend regular management meetings
Give clear and direct feedback to staff in accordance with GGET feedback training guidelines, both in real time and during structured feedback settings
Execute all cafe roles (FOH & BOH) at the same high standard we expect of our team members
Address common facilities maintenance issues autonomously and escalates any unique or special issues appropriately
Organize shop-specific events and programming
Works with team to maintain inventory to ensure availability of all our offerings and products
Find inventive ways to increase revenue
QualificationsRequired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Demonstrate a complete understanding of G&B/Go Get Em Tiger values and standards, as outlined in the company training documents
Foster an inspiring, team-first atmosphere for all employees (FOH and BOH), ensuring that they are all working in service of the same goal: delivering great products with exceptional hospitality
Effectively delegates tasks, involving senior team members in the inner workings of shop operations and management
Hold the team accountable to meeting the high standard of GGET team performance
Build long-term customer loyalty
Create and perpetually improves systems that are universally applicable in the store and can be implemented with ease
Maintains a safe environment for all employees and customers
Must posses a food safety manager certification or be willing to attain one within the first 30 days of employment
Availability for both weekend days and overall schedule availability
Must be able to provide reliable transportation to/from work and for work-related errands
Must be proficient with Email, Google Drive, Slack and Microsoft Office
Experiential Qualifications
Minimum of two years of proven management success in a high-volume and/or quality driven food service environment is a must
Previous work experience in a high-volume specialty coffee setting is a plus
Experience managing diverse teams
Experience with retail/food service financial reporting and P&L management
Physical Requirements, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to move about the cafe space frequently throughout shift
Ability to operate job related tools, such as espresso machines and coffee brewers
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers
Ability to frequently move prep items in bins weighing up to 40lbs
Exposure to kitchen environment with hot surfaces
