GeoVerra is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our team in Saskatoon, SK. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, leading field operations, solving challenges in real time, and contributing to projects that shape communities and infrastructure across Saskatchewan.
In this role, you'll lead survey crews, operate advanced survey equipment, and work closely with project teams to deliver high-quality results in a safe and efficient manner. You'll thrive in an environment that values teamwork, professionalism, and continuous development.
Work will primarily involve travel to project sites throughout Saskatchewan, with a combination of short-term and extended-duration assignments. Some projects may involve work at active mining operations and other remote locations.

What you will do:
- Manage and perform field survey work with the support of Survey Assistants.
- Liaise with Project Managers to coordinate field survey work, review and manage project budgets, schedules, priorities, and survey methodology.
- Liaise with client field representatives and landowners and be a brand ambassador for GeoVerra.
- Prepare field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in required formats for different audiences.
- Provide guidance, training and mentorship to Survey Assistants.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of industry best practices, efficient field processes and procedures and the innovative use of new technology.
- Proactively participate in and support the GeoVerra safety program.
- Complete office technical survey tasks as required and other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
- Diploma/Degree in a post-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics or an equivalent experience.
- Strong working knowledge of survey equipment and software such as GPS and Total Stations (Including Robotic).
- Experience of Trimble equipment and software, laser scanning and line locating considered an asset.
- 2-5 years of experience in a Survey Crew Chief role completing construction and legal surveys is required
- Strong problem-solving skills in a field environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to produce accurate and legible field notes.
- The ability to develop and motivate survey staff and work well in a team environment.
- An aptitude for delivering projects on time and budget.
- A valid driver’s license and can provide a clean driver’s abstract; and
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace
Job Conditions:
- Out-of-town work (possible shift work).
- Ability to carry, lift and push up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Night shift may be required.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
