Key Transportation Supervisor Job Responsibilities

Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 9AM-6:30PM.
Team Leadership: Supervise routing, dispatch, and drivers to meet productivity, quality, and service metrics.
Employee Management: Carry out hiring, training, performance management, and conflict resolution in line with company policies and applicable laws.
Optimization: Analyze and improve transportation activities, including routes, to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Accident Management: The Transportation Supervisor will assist with conducting thorough and objective fleet accident investigations, contribute to root-cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions and training are implemented.
Scheduling: Schedule drivers weekly, taking their licenses (commercial or noncommercial) into consideration.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations meet legal requirements, including FMCSA, DOT, CARB, IFTA, IRP, UCR, BIT, and other applicable regulations.
Fleet Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance of trucks, tractors, trailers, and other equipment.

QualificationsTransportation Supervisor Qualifications

Experience: 3–5 years of leadership experience in transportation. Proven track record in the produce industry preferred.
Education (Preferred): Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field experience.
Licenses: Maintain a valid California Driver License – Class A.
Management and Leadership: Strong management and supervisory skills, including hiring, training, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Technology and Systems: Skilled in transportation telematics such as Samara, WMS, and/or similar tools like Xata(net), Peoplenet, and DriveCam. Proficient in Windows-based applications and computer research tools, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Supply Chain and Operations: Solid knowledge of supply chain management, budgeting, operations management, inventory control, material handling, and customer service.
Innovation and Problem-Solving: Innovative thinking to design and implement programs.
Mathematical Skills: Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
