The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform statistical analysis using novel methods and algorithms.
Assist researchers with the planning, implementing, and analysis of research projects.
Perform data analysis, including model building analysis, assessing trends, determining correlations, testing for heterogeneity, and compiling and communicating results to investigators to participate in the interpretation of results and planning of further analyses.
Provide statistical advice and consultation to the investigators in study design, data management, choice and application of statistical methods, data analysis, and interpretation of statistical results.
Carry out statistical analyses on issues via descriptive analyses, causal inference, predictive modeling, and other univariate and bivariate and multivariate analytic methods. 2
Perform data programming, analysis and presentation by preparing charts, tables and graphs using software such as R, SAS and STATA. 3
Ensure that all data products (dynamic reports, tables, and graphics) are reproducible from the original source data by maintaining clear, commented, and consistent code and organization of files and folders.
Create interim dynamic reports that weave together text, code, output, tables and graphics and document all procedures and code used for data cleaning and analysis.
Perform qualitative analysis of free-text responses, including codebook development, qualitative coding, and analysis using computer assisted qualitative data analysis software.
Develop and systematically apply data classification schemes and process and combine data sets for analysis from diverse sources.
Utilizes statistical software packages to manage, maintain and analyze large, complex statistical databases.
Present data by preparing charts, tables, and graphs, using software that can be used for scientific monographs, book chapters, and professional presentations (including poster and oral presentations).
Research methods in data analysis, revise study forms, graphically display analytic results, collaborate in writing or editing drafts of manuscripts for publication. 4
Provide a cross-tabulation, descriptive analysis using standard statistical procedures, rate standardization, stratification of data, and model building.
Recommend appropriate statistical techniques for analysis of research data and prepare statistical reports, analyze data, and use statistical software packages and programs such as SAS and R.
Implement and validate cutting-edge algorithms and new statistical methodologies to analyze diverse sources of data to answer research questions.
Transfer data between software, dataset creation (merge and concatenation), data cleaning (identify and correct data entry errors and missing values) and data transformation (create and categorize variables and impute data).
Check and confirm the accuracy of calculations conducted by collaborating programmers, analysts, and presenters to guard against mistakes in design, conduct, or presentation of risk estimates.
Collect and refine new data and refine existing data sources. 5
Create data entry applications to improve data collection and management.
Enhance data collection strategy and procedures for primary and secondary data sources, including recovered data sources such as scans and microfilms of paper archives.
Collects and analyzes mathematical data and performs descriptive and missing data analyses.
Perform data analysis of data sets involving statistical procedures varying in complexity from simple bivariate tests to advanced regression methods for longitudinal data analysis and time-to-event analysis; determine correlations between variables. 1
Track and document all modifications, errors and changes to historical diabetes diagnosis in the longitudinal dataset that has over 60 years of data (diagnosis criteria updated periodically per American Diabetes Association).
Track and document all modifications, errors and changes to longitudinal data collected from instruments that need to be updated/ replaced over decades.
Track and document all modifications to new databases created for pulling stored samples
Track, document, and analyze all insulin and glucose clamp data collected longitudinally from human studies.
Coordinate the planning, implementing and analytical projects relevant to clinical studies and longitudinal studies of hormones and biomarkers relevant to diabetes and aging; interact with all levels of staff and communicate with outside collaborators in the U.S. and abroad.
Organize and design data files and plans for statistical analysis associated withhuman studies.
Complete a statistical analysis; organize, maintain and bring small projects to completion.
Review literature; create bibliographies; research methods in data analysis; revise study forms; graphically display analytic results; collaborate with staff on writing and editing drafts of manuscripts for publication.

publicly available resources, such as PubMED, National Library of Medicine, and other government publications, and other resources.
Use EndNote and QUOSA for bibliography management.
Collaborate with IC staff and collaborators for form and maintain study-specific webportals using standard developed software.
Prepare articles for journal submission, correspondence to related staff of scientists, communications to IRBs, and study protocol content update or revision.
Coordinate and participate in meetings and conference calls; take and post minutes on web-portals.
Perform data analysis, including, but not limited to, all topics related to the investigation of metabolic function with age, model building analysis, assessing trends, determining correlations, testing for heterogeneity and compiling and communicating results to investigators to participate in the interpretation of results and planning of further analysis.
Complete technical writing including co-authoring articles for journal submission and writing professional services agreements and statements of work.
Support pre and post-doctoral fellows with various web programs and graphing programs.
Work products and documents related to coordinating the planning, implementing and analytical projects relevant to clinical studies and longitudinal studies of hormones and biomarkers; complete statistical analysis.
Work products and documents related to organizing, maintaining and bringing projects to completion; provide a cross-tabulation, descriptive analysis using standard statistical procedures, rate standardization, stratification of data and model building.
Work products and documents related to researching and reviewing literature from publicly available resources; perform data analysis; compile and communicate results to investigators.
Work products and documents related to transferring data between software, dataset creation, data cleaning and transformation; prepare charts, tables and graphs for presentations; form and maintain study-specific web-portals; prepare articles for journal submission.
Work products and documents related to corresponding to related staff or scientists and IRBS, complete technical writing; co-author articles for journal submission; write professional services agreements and statements of work.

QualificationsBasic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Statistics, Public Health, or similar
Minimum or 2 years of professional experience including designing and performing statistical analysis specifically linear mixed effect models and bivariate linear mixed model
Skilled in MS Office Suite, R, SAS
Experience in scientific data analysis, statistical modelling, database management, data cleaning
Experience in epidemiology and bivariate linear mixed effect models
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with non-technical and technical staff
Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
