The Production Supervisor plays a key leadership role in driving safe, efficient, and high-quality welding operations. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating production activities to ensure customer expectations, quality standards, and productivity goals are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong problem-solving abilities, a passion for continuous improvement, and a commitment to developing high-performing teams.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, address non-conformances promptly.
- Conduct audits (safety, cell conditions, Kaizen) and follow-ups.
- Implement Emergency Response Plan.
- Manage process quality via start-up checks, reviews, and scrap/rework analysis.
- Lead QIR/QPR meetings and corrective actions. Facilitate 8-step problem-solving.
- Monitor shipping schedules, inventory, and production planning.
- Report finished goods inventory and cell status for overtime planning.
- Lead, coach, and motivate team members; promote “lead by example” culture.
- Prepare team leaders for shifts; oversee daily startup and broken window meetings.
- Adjust manpower allocation; maintain updated rosters.
- Conduct evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure accurate production/maintenance reports and attendance records.
- Investigate accidents and manage training needs.
- Track KPIs, OA, and scrap; develop improvement plans.
- Maintain excellent attendance and reliability. Mentor Team Leads and support team development.
- Collaborate across departments for positive work environment. Promote Broken Window mindset.
- Learn, train, and enforce Plex system.
* Must be willing and able to rotate monthly between day shift and night shift schedules to support business and production requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in production operations and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Effective communication and coaching skills.
- Ability to lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as Plex is preferred.
- Commitment to environmental and workplace policies.
EDUCATION, SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent and/or some college
- Production planning equipment
- Memorization, organizing, planning
- Ability to supervise employees
- Ability to work long hours, without supervision
- Ability to work under pressure
