About this role
Funnel Leasing Inc., is hiring for a Event and Conference Manager that can 'work from anywhere' in the U.S. The Event and Conference Manager owns Funnel’s events and conferences calendar end to end: ideation, logistics, vendor negotiation, branding, and on-site execution. This role also owns the commercial engine behind every event: partnering with SDRs and sales on targeted outreach before events, working with demand gen to make sure every lead gets the right follow-up after, and supporting ABM campaigns that turn event presence into pipeline.
Industry events in-market events and Funnel’s user conference, The Forum, drive significant portion of annual pipeline. This is a revenue-critical role, not just a logistics one. The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000 per year.
Major projects this person will own and be accountable for:
- 4 annual industry conferences with tradeshow/booth and VIP party presence
- 1 annual user conference (The Forum)
- 1 annual employee conference (Funnel Fest)
- Support for up to a dozen local apartment associations, working with account reps
- 6 in-office events (board meetings, leadership offsites, VIP meetings)
- Regional Lunch & Learn events
- Regional VIP events
- LinkedIn Live events and webinars

The Event and Conference Manager essential roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Roles and responsibilities
Event Strategy & Execution
- Conceptualize differentiated booth designs and VIP experiences with external vendors
- Build and maintain the events calendar with the marketing team
- Work with graphic design to finalize promotional assets, swag and VIP gifts
- Own all event logistics: venue, A/V, catering, shipping, and vendor negotiation for the best rates and terms
- Set up and maintain event management platforms and related tools (registration, check-in, lead capture) and keep them current across every event
- Manage registration sites and event landing pages
- Work with HR to plan and run Funnel Fest, the annual employee conference
- Travel to and serve as on-site point of contact for all industry conferences, The Forum, and Funnel Fest; staff local or regional events as needed
- Travel: 20%
Pipeline & Sales Partnership
- Own outreach planning with SDRs and sales for every event: target account lists, invite cadence, and follow-up ownership before attendees ever arrive
- Partner with demand gen on post-event follow-up so every lead gets the right next step, fast
- Support ABM campaigns tied to (and independent of) events: account selection, personalized outreach, and executive experiences for top targets
- Work with sales to confirm the right people are being invited and shown up for, not just headcount
- Share attendee lists, overview decks, and other pertinent event information with internal stakeholders
- Track and report event and campaign ROI: pipeline sourced and influenced, cost per lead, follow-up conversion, to continuously improve strategy
- Stay current on industry trends, market dynamics, and buyer behavior to keep event strategy sharp
- Develop relationships with other partners in our space to encourage collaborative events
Team & Office
- Recruit, train, and manage on-site event staff and any contracted support
- Lead the Funnel event team on-site to build attendee relationships that support sales objectives
- (For local Tampa candidates) Keep the Odessa, FL office presentable and stocked; staff it up to 2 days/week to coordinate deliveries and prep for on-site meetings
Budget & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage event budgets and marketing plans against approved objectives
- Evaluate new event opportunities before committing budget or staff time
- Administer all phases of the event function: planning, marketing, servicing, and admin, within approved budget

- Trendsetter. You push the status quo and look for a better way to improve Funnel’s buyer journey. You keep up to date with others pushing boundaries.
- Performs other duties as assigned and modified at the manager’s discretion.
Education, Work Experience, and Certifications
- Hotel/hospitality degree a plus, not required
- 6+ years of progressive event or field marketing management experience; B2B SaaS or similar preferred
- Hands-on experience setting up and administering event management platforms (e.g. Whova, Cvent, Splash, Bizzabo, or similar) and other registration/lead capture tools
- Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, or similar) for outreach and follow-up tracking
- Exposure to ABM strategy and execution a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record working cross-functionally, especially with sales and SDR teams
- Excellent presentation skills, both virtual and in-person
- Proven track record of running events that produce pipeline, not just attendance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Local candidates to Odessa/Tampa, FL a plus
