Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Monitor and manage all case deadlines using case management software (e.g., Litify, Clio, MyCase).
Maintain up-to-date legal calendars for attorneys, including court dates, filing deadlines, and internal review checkpoints.
Coordinate with legal staff to ensure timely preparation and submission of case materials.
Track court, agency, or jurisdictional updates that may affect filing deadlines.
Generate reminders, alerts, and deadline reports for attorneys and legal teams.
Communicate with clients, courts, or government agencies regarding scheduling or deadline issues when required.
Assist in drafting and formatting legal documents under attorney supervision.
Support with administrative tasks such as data entry, file maintenance, and document scanning.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2+ years of experience as a legal assistant or administrative support in a law firm.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology and processes.
Experience with legal case management or calendaring software.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in immigration, family law, or litigation practices.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Familiarity with court systems and administrative procedures.
