About our role
Reporting to the Head of Marine Operations, you’ll play an integral role in leading, coaching and developing our crew. This includes day to day contact and follow ups with your team to create a positive culture and an environment where they'll be enabled to succeed.
As the CDM, you'll work cross-functionally across Fullers to deliver a world class ferry service which is operated safely, reliably and delivers an exceptionally high standard of service and quality to our customers.
This role requires someone with the ability to think on their feet, with a pragmatic approach to problem solving. Due to the varied nature of the position, effective time-management, a proactive nature and influencing skills are key for success.
This is a permanent, full-time salaried role at 40 hours per week which requires flexibility to work over weekends, and public holidays as needed.
To be considered suitable for our role you’ll possess the following skills/attributes:
- At least two (2) years people leadership experience with the ability to demonstrate success at developing, coaching and mentoring direct reports
- Extensive knowledge of the Waitemata Harbour and surrounds
- Sound communication skills with the ability to have robust conversations including performance feedback as well as professionally interact with stakeholders (internal & external)
- Sound computer literacy skills, preferably able to work in MS Office and Excel including reporting
- Sound knowledge of quality and safety management systems
- A willingness to learn with a passion towards continuous improvement.
Beneficial:
- Someone from the maritime industry who's completed relevant qualifications (SRL / MEC5 / PAX / 500 TL) preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of MOSS, maritime rules as well as the Maritime Transport Act and Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
- Experience with e-learning platforms
