Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday with Saturday rotation.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform functions and responsibilities of a Pharmacy Clerk, operating a cash register and scanning terminal.
  • Keep inventory or current medications and process orders for new medication shipments.
  • Fills and documents medication orders, prepares, labels, and documents IV products under the direct clinical supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Able to effectively communicate with customers and associates.
  • Prepares and delivers medications to units via manual or automated dispensing machines.
  • Initiates telephone calls, receives/screens/routes incoming questions and calls.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education and/or Experience 

  • 18 years of age verified by valid driver’s license
  • High School Graduate
  • Pharmacy Technician License or ability to obtain within 2 years
  • BLS Certification or willing to obtain 

 Other Competencies

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Skill in operating a computer and calculator; knowledge of computer hardware, word processing and spreadsheet programs, and data communications
  • Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy and tact are necessary to communicate effectively
  • Requires full range of body motion with frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Ability to change from one duty to another frequently
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet unit needs
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions exactly
