We’re looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Dietary Manager to help lead our dietary team and ensure patients, staff, and visitors receive high-quality, delicious, and compassionate food service. In this role, you’ll help coordinate and support daily operations, including supervising team members, creating menus, and organizing staff schedules. You’ll play an important part in keeping the department running smoothly while helping foster a positive, team-oriented environment.

When the Dietary Manager is away, you’ll step into a leadership role to help ensure the department continues to provide exceptional service. If you’re organized, dependable, enjoy working with people, and take pride in creating a great dining experience, we’d love to have you on our team!

Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week, 7:30am-3:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates as a member of the Safety Committee.
  • Writes new seven day, four cycle menu, each quarter, with help from the Dietary Manager and Dietitian.
  • Holds a shift/position in the Dietary Department.
  • Assist with monthly inventory and computer input.
  • Prepares work schedules for dietary employees ensuring efficient use of time.
  • Manage charts/temperature logs to ensure within acceptable range.
  • Manage SDS information and compliance for Dietary Department.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education/Experience

  • Graduate of the Dietary Manager Course approved by the Dietary Managers Association or willing to take and complete the Dietary Managers Course. 
  • Supervisor experience preferred

Other Competencies 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA 
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and follow oral and written instructions 
  • Full range of body motion with frequent standing and walking as well as bending, stooping and reaching
  • Light-Medium strength with lifting of 30 lbs. occasionally, 15lbs. frequently, and 7 lbs. constantly (Lifting over 35 lbs requires assistive devices be used)
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations 
  • Manual dexterity and motor coordination required to handle trays and dishes rapidly and efficiently
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment, such as; electric slicer, food processor, vending machines, and dishwasher
