We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Order Fulfillment Associate to join our Warehouse Team. In this role, you will help ensure the accurate and efficient fulfillment of customer orders by safely transporting large quantities of fresh seafood throughout the warehouse and to designated processing stations for filleting, gutting, portioning, and packaging according to customer specifications. You will also be responsible for packing and preparing orders with accuracy, maintaining product quality, and supporting the safe and efficient flow of merchandise from processing through shipment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter customer orders and inventory information into the warehouse management system; basic computer proficiency is required.
- Transport and move large quantities of fresh seafood throughout the warehouse using safe lifting and handling techniques.
- Deliver seafood to designated processing stations for filleting, gutting, portioning, and packaging to meet customer order specifications.
- Retrieve the correct seafood products from refrigerated and freezer storage while maintaining product quality and cold chain standards.
- Prepare and package customer orders with proper labeling to process daily shipments accurately and on time.
- Pay close attention to order details to ensure the correct species, quantity, and product specifications are selected for processing.
- Verify order accuracy before processing and shipment to minimize errors and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, including proper handling of seafood, equipment, and cold storage environments.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse and processing teams to meet daily production and shipping deadlines.
- Assist with inventory organization, stock rotation, and replenishment as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads on a regular basis and work in refrigerated and freezer environments throughout the shift.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and meet delivery timelines.
- Assist in maintaining an organized inventory system using a Warehouse Management System to track stock levels and locations.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks, ensuring that all materials are handled according to safety protocols.
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials safely within the warehouse.
- Comply with OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and all company policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform other warehouse and fulfillment duties as assigned to support daily operations.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and safety.
Requirements
- Bilingual (Spanish and English).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in materials handling or warehouse operations.
- Previous experience working with seafood or perishables in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Must possess basic computer skills and the ability to accurately input and process customer orders in the company's warehouse system.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Ability to work in cold/freezing conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety practices in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive and professional attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending at waist/knees.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers.
- Exposure to a multi-temp, food production environment.
- Required to work in refrigerated and frozen environments, near noisy machinery, and confined spaces as part of daily production activities.
Work Hours and Availability:
This is a full-time position based out of the Monterey Park location. Approximate hours are 12:00am – 8:30am; some flexibility is required. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay scale for this position is $20.00 – $25.00 per hour. Employee benefits are available for all qualifying full-time employees, including paid time off, medical, vision, and dental insurance. In addition, employees receive fresh seafood products and company merchandise at cost plus 10%.
